Lorenzo Alexander formerly of the Washington Redskins has agreed to terms with the Arizona Cardinals. Alexander had been with the Redskins since 2007 and was selected to play in the Pro Bowl as a Special Teams player after the 2012 season.
Alexander agreed to terms on a 3-year deal with the Cardinals after considering interest from the 49ers, Steelers, and Jets. He figures to contend as a starting outside linebacker in the Cardinals defense, but has been versatile enough throughout his career to play in various positions.
Agent JR Rickert commented: “This was an interesting process for Lorenzo in deciding between various opportunities. I know that Lorenzo will definitely miss the Washington D.C. area and the fans there.”
Alexander is not only a force on defense, he is widely considered one of the best special teams players in the NFL today. He has earned his nickname, “One Man Gang,” through his tenacious play.
